NFFC High Stakes Private League New Prize Structures

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Apr 20, 2018 2:07 pm

Thanks to Shawn Gundy for pointing out some inconsistencies in our prize structures for the NFFC high-stakes private leagues and providing input for new payouts. It certainly showed us some changes we've made over the last 13 years that weren't consistent from contest to contest.

We have alleviated those inconsistencies and now most of the prize structures are similar. We pay back entry fees to the regular season h2h champion and to the total points champion. We give around 80 percent of their entry fee back to third place in 12 team leagues and a slight profit in 14 team leagues. And now second place is about 36 percent of first place.

We did keep the Consolation Round prizes in the 2018 league payouts. They are 2% of total prizes and they allow every team to continue playing for something throughout the 16 week season. Again, if any particular league gets unanimous approval before the start of the season to move that money to the 4th place team in the Championship Round, we will personally take care of that league. But at this point we'd like to promote the current payout structure, launch these leagues and glean as much information from this year's owners to make a proper decision for 2019. Hope that works.

Despite all of the additional state-by-state licensing fees we've incurred through the past year, we've kept payouts the same for these leagues. We are the ONLY high-stakes contest licensed in states like Indiana, Virginia, Missouri, Tennessee and many others, and that comes with a big cost. We have paid it because we are committed to being a top season-long pay-to-play fantasy sports game operator in multiple sports. We want every person who can legally play to play in our games and we aren't skirting around these laws.

A year from now we'll have more information on exactly how many states we'll need to be licensed in and what those final costs are. But for now we'll eat those costs and evaluate the landscape next year. Hope that makes sense.

Okay, so these are the tentative prizes for our private high-stakes leagues. We'll finalize everything on Monday, post individual threads with the Rules and Prizes for each contest and get this show on the road. Our goal is to have Registration live before the NFL Draft and Draft Champions leagues ready to go immediately. Let's do this.
